Each workout, designed for ROX Fitness by trainer Mark Canney, employs the heart rate-boosting technique of circuit training. Comprised of an intense exercise regime of upper, lower and core exercises, 20 to 30 minutes in length, the workouts are designed to strengthen the cardiovascular and muscular systems.
Each workout employs peripheral heart action, an exercise philosophy based on the principle that alternating combinations of upper and lower body exercises force the heart to circulate blood to opposite ends of the body. This elevates the heart rate more quickly, increasing the number of calories burned in each workout.
The aerobic affect of circuit training will improve your cardiovascular ability and help you build lean muscle, increasing your ability to burn fat at rest. The effectiveness of circuit training means that with each 20 to 30 minute workout you will get closer to you fitness goals.
Before moving on to your next workout you will be asked to complete a brief assessment. This will be sent to you via email or before your next download. Each question will ask you to rate the difficulty of your workout, providing your trainer crucial feedback. This allows for systematic adjustments to your workout to increase or decrease the difficulty. It also ensures each of your workouts is consistently challenging and effective so you continually meet your goals and avoid exercise plateau.
